Precious finds in company archives
Footage turns up (often by chance) in companies, and sometimes no one knows what is on it. Here from Hanover and the surrounding area alone, we have so far digitized exciting and sometimes very old 16 mm and 35 mm films from Continental, Bahlsen, Machwitz Kaffee, Hanomag, Büssing, Exxon Mobile, Cameron and THW, among others.
Some of these were promotional films, some documentary material that provided information about the company's founding and history.
It gets even more exciting if you take the finds as an occasion to research the history and combine the films with other documents such as historical construction plans and (animated) photos to create a film documentation. This is how we did it on behalf of evonik Industries AG:
